Insyde® Software, a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and systems management software, today announced that its flagship firmware, InsydeH2O®, is shipping in Ericsson’s 5G Baseband 6648, a next-generation LTE and 5G NR (New Radio) base station for the mobile network infrastructure market.
The Ericsson Baseband 6648 is the latest product in Ericsson’s RAN (Radio Access Network) Compute portfolio and provides up to three times greater capacity than existing Ericsson basebands. Leveraging InsydeH2O UEFI BIOS top-tier telecom companies such as Ericsson are taking advantage of telecom-optimized firmware to enable the latest x86 system features to bring to market more powerful and more efficient designs to meet the rapid growth in the deployment of global 5G network infrastructure.
